RESULTSEWING, N.J. – Sophomore
Mike McConville posted a runner-up finish in the 5,000-meter run to pace the Swarthmore College men's track & field team at the Lions' Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 26 at TCNJ's Track & Field Complex.
McConville clocked in a time of 15:42.27 in the 5k, which was less than six seconds behind winner Michael Cahill of Stevens Tech. The Garnet also got top-10 finishes from juniors
Erick White and
Jonas Oppenheimer as well as freshman
John Gagnon. White was seventh in the 1,500 in 4:00.95, while Oppenheimer finished the 800 in eighth in 1:57.18. Gagnon registered a time of 16:29.41 to place eighth in the 5,000.
Swarthmore will spend the week preparing to host the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Clothier Field from May 2-4. The Garnet will look to improve on their eighth-place finish at the league's indoor meet this past winter.
