BOSTON, Mass. - From the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University, junior
Jonas Oppenheimer of the Swarthmore College men's track and field team set his second new indoor program record of the season. The rest of the squad was at Haverford College's Seamus McElligott Invitational on Saturday, February 8.

800m Complete Results
Among 235 competitors in the 800-meter run, Oppenheimer crossed the finish line 61st with a program record-breaking mark of 1:55.28. The nine-year record was previously held by Vernon Chaplin's 1:56.21 time set in 2005.

Paul Green and junior
Erick White also competed in the event with finishing times of 1:57.03 and 1:57.72, respectively.

For the sprints, freshman
Zain Hannan took fifth place in the 200-meter dash (23.88) and third in the 400-meter dash (52.63), while junior
Jason Heo finished with times of 7.45 (60m), 9.20 (60H) and 24.58 (200m).
Freshman
Corey Branch paced a 10th-place finish in the 800-meter run with his 2:01.34 mark among a field of 38 competitors. Sophomore
Dominic Castro-Wehr crossed the finish at 2:04.91.
A popular event for the Garnet, four teammates placed in the mile loop - sophomore
Dan Creem placed 13th overall at 4:34.79 followed by
Dan Kalamarides (4:45.71), Castro-Wehr (4:46.01) and freshman
Will Sullivan (4:47.61).
In the field, senior
Gavin Fahey recorded a personal-best high jump mark of 1.60 meters (5' 3.00").
Swarthmore returns to action Friday, February 14 in the Lafayette/Rider Invitational held at the NYC Armory beginning at 4:00 p.m.
