HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Swarthmore College men's track and field team traveled to Haverford College for the Keogh Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 22 as the team's final meet before Centennial Conference championships.
Sophomore
Spencer Friske led the Garnet in the 3,000-meter run with his personal-best and ECAC-qualifying finish of 8:49.50 for sixth place overall. His finish is the Swarthmore's best in the event this season. Senior
Stuart Russell and freshman
Sid Kakkar followed closely behind at 8:58.60 and 8:58.82, respectively.
Freshmen
Zain Hannan recorded a season-best mark in the 200-meter dash (23.47) for fifth place and finished the 400-meter dash in 52.92.
In the mid-distance events, freshman
Corey Branch crossed the line at 2:01.81 – just hundredths off his personal-best – in the 800-meter run. For the mile event, sophomore
Paul Green finished first for the Garnet at 4:26.66 in a personal-best performance. Junior
Erick White also recorded a personal-best in the mile run with his 4:29.10 mark.
Swarthmore will return to action next weekend for the Centennial Conference championships hosted at Haverford College from Mar. 1 to Mar. 2.
