Box Score
SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Despite getting a double-double from senior Katie Lytle and a record-breaking performance from classmate Kayla Moritzky, the Swarthmore College women's basketball team was dealt a 67-59 overtime loss by archrival Haverford on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Tarble Pavilion.

Swarthmore, which honored its four-member senior class prior to the contest, battled back from an 11-point deficit in the second half and forced overtime when Moritzky canned a 3-pointer from the right arc to make it 57-all with 23.1 seconds left. The Garnet were then able to get a stop on the other end by forcing Elizabeth Lynch to turn the ball over with 3.1 seconds left, but the hosts could not get a good look before time expired and the game headed to overtime.

Haverford dominated the extra session, as Jacquelyne Pizzuto scored all six of her points to begin the frame and give the visitors a 63-59 edge with 2:50 to play. The Fords also got a pair of free throws from Rachel Baskin and a driving layup by Lynch to put the game out of reach.

The first half was tightly contested with two ties and three lead changes. Swarthmore got off to a fast start and held seven-point leads of 10-3 and 14-7 by getting a combined 10 points from junior Elle Larsen and Lytle in the opening minutes. The Garnet extended their lead to as many as eight when Moritzky set up a Lytle jumper that made it 19-11 at the midway point. Moritzky also set the school record for career assists on the play.

Haverford (21-3, CC 15-3) started chipping away at the deficit and went ahead by a 30-26 score courtesy of consecutive layups coming from Cara Wyant. But the Garnet would score the last five points of the frame, which was capped by a Stephanie Lechich trifecta off another feed from Moritzky that gave the hosts a 31-30 lead at the break.

Lytle posted her 50th career double-double by scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 boards to lead the way for Swarthmore. Moritzky contributed a game-high seven helpers and ended the afternoon with a school-record 350 assists in her career. The previous mark of 345 was established by Maggie Doughertyin 1987. Freshman Maggie O'Neil and Larsen netted 12 points apiece.

Haverford was led by Nina Voith and Lynch's double-double efforts. Voith had 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Lynch had 11 points and 10 boards. Wyant contributed 20 points off the bench.

Swarthmore (13-11, CC 8-10) will now wait to see if it will earn an ECAC playoff bid.
