Box Score SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Sophomore
Chris Bourne netted a career-high 24 points to lead the Swarthmore College men's basketball team to a 75-63 win over Ursinus on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at Tarble Pavilion.
The first half began as a seesaw battle with one tie and nine lead changes in less than eight minutes. Swarthmore, however, embarked on a 17-2 run to establish control and take a 28-14 lead with 6:40 on the clock. Sophomores
Shane Loeffler and
Sam Lebryk hit back-to-back trifectas to give the Garnet a two-touchdown advantage. The deficit ballooned up to 17 points on a pair of free throws by freshman
Robbie Walsh before the Bears brought the margin down to 10 at the recess.

Ursinus (0-4, CC 0-2), which ended the opening half on a 10-3 run, continuing chipping away at the deficit in the second frame and came within four on a good jumper by Matt Knowles which created a 38-34 score with 17:16 remaining. But the Garnet shook off the attempted rally and had their underclassmen score 36 of the team's remaining 37 points the rest of the way. Freshman
Zack Yonda most notably came off the bench and scored 11 points over a stretch of 15:09 to help allow the Garnet to hang on for their first win of the season.

Bourne netted his career-best 24 points by shooting a blistering 8-for-12 from the field and 8-for-10 from the line to lead the way for Swarthmore. He also pulled down a team-leading seven rebounds and locked one shot. Senior
Karl Barkley scored 12 points, including 11 in the first half, while Yonda and freshman
Robbie Walsh each contributed 11 points off the bench.

The Bears were paced by Malik Draper and Knowles. Draper finished with 16 points and six rebounds, and Knowles posted 12 points in the losing effort. Brian Rafferty had a game-high five assists.
