MASON, OHIO – Sophomore
Sid Kakkar of the Swarthmore College men's cross country team competed at the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday, Nov. 22 at the Golf Center at King's Island.
Kakkar navigated the 8,000-meter circuit in 25:03.1 to place 63rd overall among a competitive field of 280 runners. He was also the fourth Centennial Conference harrier to cross the finish line.
Grant Wintheiser of St. Olaf won the individual crown by hitting the tape in 23:44.9, while North Central captured its fourth team crown in the last seven years and 16th overall to continue its dominance on the national landscape.
With Kakkar's appearance, the Garnet men's cross country program has sent a participant to each of the last four NCAA Division III Championships.
Mike McConville finished 206th in 2013, while Jacob Phillips '13 was 114th in 2011 and 57th in 2012.
