Men's Individual ResultsNEWVILLE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's cross country team earned a sixth place finish at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championship hosted by Dickinson College on Saturday.
Sophomore
Sid Kakkar was Swarthmore's top finisher, completing the 8,000-meter course in 25:40.9 for 19th overall in a large field of 343 runners. Senior
Jonas Oppenheimer followed and crossed the line in 25:49.8 (25th). Both student-athletes were named to the All-Mideast Region Team for placing in the top 35.
Senior
Erick White clocked in at 26:00.3 (37th), and rounding out the Garnet top-five were junior
Mike McConville (47th/26:13.0) and sophomore
Corey Branch (80th/26:51.8).
Carnegie Mellon placed first overall with 90 points followed by Widener (115) and Johns Hopkins (119). 47 teams participated in this event.
Swarthmore will now wait to see if it will send any individuals to the NCAA Championships next weekend.
