COMPLETE RESULTSHAVERFORD, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's cross country team placed fourth overall at the Centennial Championships hosted by Haverford College on Saturday, Nov 1.
Haverford won the conference title, outscoring second-place Johns Hopkins by 27 points. Dickinson placed third (74) followed by Swarthmore (97), Franklin & Marshall (168), Gettysburg (171), Muhlenberg (178), McDaniel (244), and Ursinus (265).
Among 100 runners, senior
Erick White led the Garnet through the 8,000-meter course with his 26:04.5 finish for 11th overall. Next to cross the line was junior
Paul Green in 26:09.0 (12th), followed by senior
Jonas Oppenheimer in 26:11.7 (14th).
Sophomore
Corey Branch clocked in at 27:02.4 (35th), and rounding out the top-five Swarthmore finishers was junior
Mike McConville at 27:16.9 (40th).
For their efforts, White, Green, and Oppenheimer were named to the All-Centennial Conference Second Team.
Charlie Marquardt of Haverford won the individual men's title with a 25:30.2 finish.
Next up for the Garnet is the NCAA Mideast Regional, which will be hosted by Dickinson on November 15th.
