Wiseman and Davis Lead Swarthmore Women’s Swimming to Third Straight Dual Meet Victory

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Junior Katherine Wiseman won the 200-yard individual medley and anchored two first-place relay teams in leading the Swarthmore College women's swimming team to a 128-77 dual meet victory over Washington College on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at the Casey Swim Center. The Garnet, who posted 15 season bests, won their third straight dual meet to begin the spring semester.

Wiseman was victorious in the 200 IM by notching a season-best time of 2:17.16 in the event. In addition, she swam the anchor leg for the winning 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay that registered season-best marks of 1:52.04 and 1:43.36, respectively. Sophomore Nikkia Miller factored into three winning performances as well by swimming on both relay squads with Wiseman and hitting the wall first in 25.34 seconds, a season best, in the 50 free.

Junior Supriya Davis, the two-time reigning Centennial Conference Performer of the Year, arguably had her best meet to date by taking first place in two individual events and also swimming a leg on the 200 medley relay to begin the evening. Davis took the 100 fly in 58.19 and the 200 free in 1:59.51. Both marks were season bests.

Other Garnet swimmers who factored into a winning finish included freshmen Erica Flor and Emma Eppley as well as senior Erin Lowe. Lowe and Eppley swam legs on the 200 free relay to cap the meet, while Flor led off the 200 medley relay and won the 100 back in 1:01.96.
