ORLANDO - The Swarthmore College women's tennis team (2-1) completed it spring break trip to Orlando with a 5-4 win over St. Lawrence University.
With the match tied at 4-4, freshman
Jackie Lane sealed the match with her 6-1, 7-6 (0) win at number six singles.
At number one, junior
Lia Carlson earned a 6-3, 6-4 victory. It was her second win for the day, as she also claimed her match at number one doubles with senior
Emily Rosenblum, 8-6.
The other two singles victories came from seniors
Kelsey Johnson and
Stephanie Chia. Johnson won at number three with a score of 6-2, 6-4, and Chia defeated Geer at number four singles, 6-2, 6-3.
St. Lawrence picked up points at number two and three doubles, but the Swarthmore singles players proved to be too strong.
The Garnet open Centennial Conference Competition on Saturday, March 23rd at McDaniel College.
