WESTMINSTER, Md. – The Swarthmore College women's swim team was handed its first dual meet loss of the season, falling 61-34 to McDaniel College on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Harlow Pool.
Despite the loss, the Garnet received a strong boost from several individual first-place finishers. Sophomore
Eva Winter captured the 100-yard breaststroke, posting a time of 1:11:39 , while freshman Abby Byrne won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:03.77.
In the freestyle, sophomore
Nikkia Miller recorded a mark of 25.27 seconds in 50-yard sprint for a first-place finish. Freshman
Briana Schoenek was victorious in the 200-yard event with a time of 2:03.67.
Swarthmore (1-1, CC 0-1) will look to return to their winning ways when they remain on the road for a dual meet against conference opponent Franklin and Marshall on Saturday, November 9 at 2:00 p.m. in Lancaster, Pa.
