Amber Famiglietti converted a penalty kick and added an assist to help lead the Swarthmore College women's soccer team to a convincing 6-0 victory over Washington College on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Clothier Field. Head coach
Todd Anckaitis earned his 100th career victory as the pilot of the Garnet, who honored their four-member senior class prior to the match and used six different goal scorers to complete a rout of the Shorewomen in their regular season finale.
Swarthmore (9-5-2, CC 4-4-2), which outshot Washington College 29-2 in the match and 17-1 in the opening half, netted the only marker in the 34th minute. Senior

Ellen Bachmanhuff from behind the midfield line. Bachmanuff then broke through the Shorewomen defense and found classmate
Emma Sindelar cutting in from the left to give the hosts a 1-0 lead at the break.
After the recess, the Garnet broke loose by scoring three times in less than six minutes to begin the second frame. Freshman
Mele Johnson opened the floodgates just 1:51 into the half by firing a rocket from outside the 18-yard box to the upper 90 of the net after receiving a pass back from Famiglietti.

Rebecca Mayeda gave the Garnet a three-goal cushion by finishing a pass from Sindelar just 25 seconds after Johnson's marker, and Famiglietti made it a 4-0 advantage by converting a penalty kick in the 51st minute. Senior
McCleary Philbin then added a goal and tallied an assist in a span of 2:30 to provide more insurance for the hosts.

Katie Sipiora earned her second straight victory for Swarthmore by turning away one of the two shots she faced before being relieved by sophomore
Caela Long. Melissa Berry matched her career high for saves with eight on 29 opportunties in the losing effort for Washington College (4-12-2, CC 1-9).
Swarthmore, which concluded its regular season riding a two-match winning streak, will now wait to see if it earns a bid to the ECAC Tournament.
Notes: With tonight's victory, the Swarthmore men's and women's soccer teams combined to post an undefeated record of 11-0-5 at Clothier Field during the 2013 regular season.
