Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College field hockey team conceded two second half goals to fall 2-1 at Arcadia University on Thursday evening in non-conference action.
Swarthmore (2-15) held the lead for the first time since Garnet Weekend after a penalty corner conversion at 29:58. Senior midfielder
Aarti Rao chipped in her fourth goal of the season from
Abigail Lauder's '15 input pass. The Garnet looked to add a second on a shot from senior
Anne Rosenblatt in the 33rd minute, but the ball went wide of the net.
At the break, the Garnet led 1-0 on the scoreboard, but the Arcadia (14-5) had 4-3 and 5-4 advantages in shots and corners, respectively. Swarthmore sophomore goalkeeper
Ainsley Parrish kept the Knight attack at-bay with three big saves in the opening frame.
Arcadia wasted little time in the second by scoring the game-tying goal at 36:41 on Isabel Farfan's second of the season. Neither team would register a shot until 43:23 when Swarthmore's
Julia Thomas '16 fired her first of two on target - both were stopped by Knights keeper Brittany Hodson. In the 45th minute Arcadia clinched the game-winning tally from Debbie Wolfe.
Parrish finished with six saves for the Garnet - including stopping a penalty stroke in the 49th minute - in her third complete game on the season. Hodson made three stops in the victory.
Swarthmore will conclude the regular season on Saturday, November 2 hosting Centennnial Confernece opponent Ursinus College on senior day.
