SWARTHMORE, Pa.
– Sophomore Nikkia Miller and senior Jessica Seigel each won a pair of individual freestyle events to help lead the Swarthmore College women's swimming team to a 119-84 triumph over Widener on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Ware Pool.

Seigel was victorious in her two individual events decisively by touching the wall with winning marks of 5:33.06 in the 500-yard freestyle and 11:22.35 in the 1,000-yard freestyle, respectively. The senior outdistanced the field in the 1,000 by nearly 36 seconds. Miller won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.40 seconds and the 100 in 56.70 to also pace the Garnet over the course of the evening.

Other Swarthmore individual event winners included senior Erin Lowe, freshman Erica Flor and sophomore Eva Winter. Lowe edged out Jennifer Barkofski of Widener by .13 seconds to capture the 200 free in 2:05.11, while Flor captured the 200-yard backstroke in 2:14.76 for her first collegiate victory. Winter took the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:34.43.

In addition, the trio of Lowe, Flor and Winter teamed up with freshman Briana Schoenek to win the 400-yard medley relay. The group's mark of 4:15.38 in the dual meet's first event helped the Garnet set the tone for the evening.

Swarthmore (1-0) returns to action when it visits McDaniel on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m.
