SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Junior
Samuel Tomlinson won the 100-yard freestyle and anchored the victorious 400 medley relay squad to help lead the Swarthmore College men's swimming team to a 115-84 triumph over Widener on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Ware Pool.

Andrew Steele by .03 seconds to capture the 100 free in 50.44 seconds after teaming up with freshman

John Flaherty on the winning 400 medley relay that posted a mark of 4:15.38 in the opening event and set the tone for the night. Fitzstevens and Flaherty also won individual titles by hitting the wall in times of 2:00.09 in the 200 backstroke and 2:07.42 in the 200 individual medley, respectively.
Other notable performances were made by individual winners Joshua Turek-Herman, freshman
Stephen Sekula and senior
Cyrus Nasseri. Turek-Herman, a sophomore, won the 1,000 freestyle in 10:52.94, while Sekula finished the 200 free in 1:51.02. Nasseri triumphed in the 200 butterfly with a mark of 2:14.95.
Swarthmore (1-0) returns to action when it visits McDaniel on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m.

Notes: Swarthmore and Widener battle each year in the "320 Challenge," pitting the schools in a head-to-head matchup of their 19 shared sports ... With tonight's victories in men's and women's swimming, the Garnet took a 4-2 advantage in the overall standings.
