CARLISLE, Pa. – Jacob Phillips paced a 26:08 time in the Dickinson Long Run (8K) to finish second overall in a field of 233 runners, leading the Swarthmore College men's cross country team to a fourth-place finish on Saturday morning at the Big Spring High School course.
Robert Fain finished next for the Garnet, clocking in at 27:05 followed by Stuart Russell at 27:13 as the juniors finished 21st and 24th respectively.
Senior Aidan DuMont-McCaffrey (27:30) and junior Dan Kalamarides (27:57) closed out the top-five for the Garnet.
Also competing for Swarthmore were freshmen Dominic Castro-Wehr (27:59), Paul Green (28:31), Spencer Friske (28:45) and Bennett Thompson (30:02).
The class of 2015 raced past the finish line as well for the Garnet. Erick White clocked in at 29:05, while Jorin Schug paced a finish of 29:22 on the 8K course and Nick Witchey finished at 31:16. Emanuel Schorsch (31:28) and Samiul Haque (32:04) also competed for Swarthmore.
In the Dickinson Short Run course, Eric Verhasselt (15:41.2), Josh Gregory (16:212), Aaron Moser (16:42.8), Jason Heo (17:40.4) and Michael Fleischmann (17:54.4) competed for Swarthmore to finish 13th overall.
The Garnet men's cross country team will next compete at the Princeton Invitational on October, 13th for a 10:00 a.m. start.
