Women's Swimming Remains Unbeaten with 114-91 Win Over F&M

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore women's swim team (3-0, 2-0) passed its first real Centennial Conference test of the season with flying colors on Saturday, taking down Franklin & Marshall by a 114-91 score.  The Diplomats, second-place finishers at last year's championships, are projected to be one of the Garnet's biggest rivals again this season.

The Garnet quartet of freshman Nikkia Miller, sophomores Kate Wiseman and Supriya Davis, and junior Rebecca Teng started the meet off right for Swarthmore, taking the 200 medley relay in 1:52.94.  The team went on to win seven individual events, with five different swimmers earning first-place finishes.

Davis and Wiseman once again won two events apiece; Davis won the 200 freestyle (1:57.37) and 100 backstroke (1:02.41), while Wiseman swept the sprint freestyle events (25.09 and 53.98).  Miller scored a decisive victory in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.33), and fellow freshmen Eva Winter and Jessica Seigel won the 200 IM (2:18.58) and 100 butterfly (1:02.48), respectively.

The Garnet returns to the pool at the Rowan next Saturday. Action is set to begin at 1:00 pm.
