NEW ORLEANS – The Swarthmore College women's outdoor track & field team had four individuals named All-Metro Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Tate Garcia (shot put and discus),
Lydia Morris-Kliment (discus),
Elizabeth Page (1500m), and
Kate Reiter (heptathlon) all received the honor. The top-8 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-8 relay teams.
Garcia ranked fifth in the shot put with a toss of 12.93 meters at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge. It is her second career All-Region nod in the event. Garcia finished second in the shot put at the Centennial Conference Championships for All-Centennial Second Team accolades. The senior ranked seventh in the discus for her third consecutive All-Region selection in the discipline. Her top distance of 39.33 meters also came at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge.
Morris-Kliment led the region in the discus with a throw of 44.05 meters at the MIT Final Qualifier. She ranked 34
th in the nation in the event. It was her third straight All-Region recognition. The junior won her second conference title at the Centennial Championships.
Page posted the fourth-best time in the region in the 1500 meters, finishing in 4:38.43 at the Centennial Championships. She placed third for All-Centennial honorable mention. It is Page's second straight All-Region nod in the event.
Reiter ranked sixth in the region in the heptathlon as a rookie, scoring 3652 points at the Centennial Championships.
