LANCASTER, Pa. – Swarthmore College's
Ava Babcock was named the Centennial Conference Softball Player of the Week on Tuesday by the conference office. It is the fourth consecutive week in which a Swarthmore player has won a weekly award.
Babcock batted .538 (7-for-13) with a 1.417 OPS to lead the Garnet to a 3-1 week. She totaled four doubles, eight RBIs, and three runs. The junior went 4-for-4 with three doubles, four RBIs, and a run in a 9-1 victory over Ursinus. All three of her doubles drove in runs and one was the game-ending hit in the sixth. Babcock closed the week by going 2-for-3 with a double, four RBIs, and two runs in a 14-3 triumph at Gettysburg.
Swarthmore hosts Haverford College on Tuesday afternoon.
