Lydia Morris-Kliment finishes second in discus throw

Women’s Track Posts Top-Five Trio at Danny Curran Invite

CHESTER, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's track & field team had three athletes record top-five finishes at the Danny Curran Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Lydia Morris-Kliment headlined the trio with a second-place effort in the discus throw, while Tate Garcia was fifth in the shot put. Elizabeth Page also placed fourth in the 1500m run, while beating out all other Division-III competitors. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Morris-Kliment placed as the runner-up in the discus throw. The junior recorded a top mark of 41.60m on her second attempt. Briana Eugene impressed in the event with an 11th-place effort (35.10m), while Garcia took 13th at 33.91m. 

- Page placed fourth in the 1500m run with a 4:45.90 mark. She finished behind a trio of Division-I runners from Villanova and Saint Joseph's. Olivia Montini also put together a strong showing in the event, finishing 12th overall at 4:52.87. 

- Garcia qualified for the finals in shot put. The senior was fifth overall with a top distance of 11.49m.  

- Kate Reiter recorded a personal best in the 100m hurdles, placing 17th overall at 17.20. 

- Rebekah Gendler finished 20th overall in the long jump. She recorded a top mark of 4.83m on her second attempt. 

- Gabby Bredbenner finished towards the top half of the field in the 400m run. The rookie clocked a personal best of 1:01.54 to place 25th. Hannah Garrou also had a strong effort, earning 32nd at 1:03.14. Bredbenner later placed 25th in the 200m run, recording another personal best of 26.49. 

- Rica Eleches-Lipsitz ran a personal best in the 800m run. The rookie was 32nd overall at 2:26.89.
