LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Swarthmore College's
Clay Almgren and
Drew Tyson both earned a pair of Preseason All-America selections heading into this week's season opener for the men's lacrosse squad.
Almgren was named to the Preseason All-America First Team by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) while Tyson garnered a second team nod from the organization. Both athletes also received Preseason All-America Second Team recognition from Inside Lacrosse.
Almgren was selected as a USILA Second Team All-American to end 2025, in which he was chosen the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Year after leading the conference with 79 points. He ranked second with 41 assists and he was fourth with 38 goals. He was 21
st in Division III in points per game (5.27) and 25
th in assists per game (2.73). The senior already ranks in the program's all-time top-10 in assists and points and he is also poised to crack the goals leaderboard this year.
Tyson garnered USILA All-America honorable mention for the second straight year last season. He was an All-Centennial Second Team selection after setting a new single-season program record with 204 saves. His .667 save percentage ranks fifth all-time for a single year. Tyson led the nation in save percentage and was fourth in goals against average (7.63). The senior sits sixth all-time with 403 career saves as he looks to climb up the leaderboard this season.
The Garnet begin the campaign on Saturday when they host Widener University.
