LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Swarthmore College men's lacrosse team climbed one spot to No. 17 in this week's United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Coaches Poll.
The Garnet are off to a 3-0 start with victories over Widener University, Eastern University, and Messiah University. Swarthmore has outscored its opponents 50-19 to this point, including a 29-9 margin in the second half.
The Garnet currently rank in the top-20 in Division III in numerous categories, most notably scoring offense, scoring defense, scoring margin, face-off winning percentage, and opponent clear percentage. Swarthmore is averaging 16.67 goals per game while allowing just 6.33 per contest. The Garnet have won 73.8 percent of draws and conceded opposing clear attempts just 65.7 percent of the time.
Swarthmore is back in action on Saturday at Elizabethtown College.
