HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's cross country team placed fifth out of ten teams at Haverford College's Mainline Invitational on Friday. The Garnet finished as the top Division-III team, beating out Centennial Conference foes Haverford, Muhlenberg and Bryn Mawr.

Olivia Montini led the Garnet for the second-straight race to open the season. The senior placed 20th overall in a competitive field of runners across all divisions. Montini has finished inside the top-20 at this race in all four years.


HOW IT HAPPENED
- Montini crossed the finish line at 20th overall to secure the highest individual Division-III finish. The senior raced to a 18:53.2 to finish a tenth of a second short of her previous 5k record. 

- Charlotte Martin recorded the team's second-fastest time, racing to a personal record of 19:25.4. The sophomore took home 31st overall to finish with the second-best D-III mark. 

- Téa Malone-Bonacci finished within a few seconds of her teammate to place 26th overall. The junior crossed the finish line at 19:32.5 to finish over a full second faster than her previous best. 

- Aaliyah Anaskevich registered a 39th-place finish at 19:41.5. The sophomore showed tremendous improvement from her rookie season, finishing just over a second faster than her 2024 mark at Haverford. 

- Ania Wong was 43rd overall with a time of 19:49.6. First-year Abra Mazzeo followed closely behind at 19:57.1 to place 47th

- Rica Eleches-Lipsitz rounded out the team's top-seven with a time of 20:58.9. The first-year finished in 60th place.
