SPARTANBURG, S.C. – In a historic moment for the program, the Swarthmore College women's cross country team competed at the NCAA Division III Championships for the first time on Saturday at the Roger Milliken Center.
The Garnet came in 32
nd place in their team debut after qualifying as the Metro Region champion. New York University won the team competition to capture its first national title.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Ania Wong led Swarthmore, taking 226
th place with a time of 23:47.9 over the 6K course. Running in her fourth national championship race,
Olivia Montini ran 23:54.4 to finish 233
rd. She reached a peak of 207
th before falling back over the final three kilometers.
- Téa Malone-Bonacci crossed 247
th in 24:07.3. She plateaued at 200
th at the 4K mark.
Elizabeth Page posted a time of 24:28.8 to come in 267
th place. She peaked at 252
nd early in the race.

Rica Eleches-Lipsitz placed 280
th with a time of 25:04.1. They gradually moved up the pack throughout the race.
Abra Mazzeo stepped in as an injury replacement and battled to a 288
th-place finish (26:11.4).
Aaliyah Anaskevich also competed for the Garnet but had to bow out of the race after the 3K mark.
