MEDIA, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's cross country team recorded six top-10 finishes to open the season at the Bryn Mawr Invitational at Rose Tree Park on Saturday. The Garnet finished first overall out of six teams. 

Olivia Montini paced the Garnet with a third-place finish at 20:15.2. The senior, who had won the meet for the previous three years, was followed by five of her teammates as Swarthmore controlled positions three through eight. 



HOW IT HAPPENED
- Olivia Montini placed third overall with a time of 20:15.2 to narrowly hold off her teammate Elizabeth Page, who claimed fourth at 20:16.9. Page set a personal best on the course by nearly a full minute.  

- Abra Mazzeo claimed the team's third-fastest mark to finish fifth overall. The first-year impressed her collegiate debut with a 20:26.9 mark. 

- Ania Wong began her sophomore campaign with a sixth-place effort to record the team's fourth-fastest mark. Wong crossed the finish line at 20:33.4 to set a new personal record on the course. 

- Téa Malone-Bonacci and Aaliyah Anaskevich were seventh and eighth, respectively. The pair finished within a few tenths of a second as Malone-Bonnaci led the way at 20:44.1 with Anaskevich trailing at 20:44.3. 

- First-year Rica Eleches-Lipsitz finished just outside the top-10 with a time of 21:36.1. The rookie placed 12th overall to finish inside the team's top-seven performers. Fellow rookie Charlotte Martin was not far behind, clocking in at 21:55.8 in 14th place.
