LOGAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - The Swarthmore College women's cross country team finished ninth overall out of 31 teams at the Rowan Border Battle on Saturday morning. The Garnet placed third out of their Metro Region rivals, finishing behind only Rowan and Haverford College.
Charlotte Martin led the Garnet for the second-straight race, earning consecutive personal records in the 6k.
Téa Malone-Bonacci and
Aaliyah Anaskevich also set a pair of personal records, while finishing inside the team's top-seven finishers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Martin continued to impress in her first season with the Garnet. The sophomore claimed 39th overall with a time of 22:40.2 to secure the team's best individual finish. Martin has set a new personal record in every race this season, overtaking her previous best by 24-seconds.
- Malone-Bonnaci and
Olivia Montini ran neck-and-neck to place 60th and 64th, respectively. Malone-Bonnaci recorded another personal record with a 22:59.8 finish, posting a eight-second best and her first sub-23 minute mark. Montini finished just behind the junior with a 23:01.6 finish.
- Anaskevich,
Ania Wong and
Elizabeth Page all finished within five spots of each other to claim 75th, 77th and 79th, respectively. Anaskevich led the trio with a time of 23:19.3 to cut 25-seconds off her previous best. Wong raced to a 23:21.4 finish, while Page followed closely behind at 23:22.9.

Rica Eleches-Lipsitz rounded out the team's top-seven with a time of 24:17.1. The rookie finished 127th overall.
