CHICAGO - The No. 24 Swarthmore College men's swimming team squared off against seven nationally-ranked opponents at the University of Chicago D3 Shootout on Friday. 

The men's 200 medley relay headlined the meet with a top-10, all-time finish in the event. Cami Wilson, who was a member of the relay, also had a successful showing in both the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke to earn key points for the Garnet.

Swarthmore sits in ninth overall after the opening night of competition. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet tied for fourth overall in the 200 medley relay to open the night. The team of Levi Tipton, Dylan Ling, Wilson and Cole Griscavage touched the wall at 1:31.02 to tie with No. 18 RIT. The finish ranked sixth all-time in program history. 

- Wilson fell a few tenths of a second short of an NCAA B cut in the 50 freestyle. The junior touched the wall fourth in the top heat with a 20.51 mark. Griscavage also raced in the event with a time of 21.53. 

- Danny Castle took fourth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:41.22. The sophomore finished within a couple seconds of the NCAA B cut. 

- Griscavage was sixth in the 100 breaststroke with a 57.50 effort. Dylan Herink competed in the B Final with a time of 59.33. 

- Tipton swam to a seventh-place finish in the 100 backstroke. The first-year touched the wall at 52.39 in the top heat. Wilson raced in the B Final with a 51.72 mark to claim 13th overall, but had the eighth-fastest mark overall. 

- Herink placed eighth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:12.54. Ham Williams-Tracy also raced in the event with a 4:10.14 finish in the B Final. 

- Ling claimed eighth in the 200 butterfly with a 1:54.74 mark. Williams-Tracy competed in the B Final with a time of 1:57.76.
