Cantine Breaks 800m Record at Widener Final Qualifier

CHESTER, Pa. - Swarthmore College men's track & field senior Aidan Cantine headlined the Widener Final Qualifier with a program record in the 800m run on Monday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cantine took down another program record as he captured his third outdoor program mark. The senior crossed the finish line at 1:52.19 in the 800m run to take down Erick White's 2015 mark of 1:53.83. Cantine placed 11th overall in the event as he took nearly two seconds off his previous best. Robert Mirabello also competed in the 800m run with a time of 2:03.81.

- Xavier Serrano placed sixth overall in the javelin throw with a top mark of 49.39m. Julio Del Cid also competed in the shot put with a 11.18m throw to take 15th overall.

- Paul Seth was 10th in the pole vault with a top height of 3.90m. The senior cleared the bar on his second attempt.
