EWING, NJ - Competing on the second day of TCNJ's Lions Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 29, the Swarthmore men's track & field team put up stellar results, including two top-10 finishes.
Taking on nearly fifty other teams, including Centennial rival Ursinus College, the Garnet fielded athletes in eight events, including the: 100m, 110m Hurdles, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, Long Jump and 4x100m Relay.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kicking the day off on the track, first year
Joel Lovell finished 27th in the 100m, putting up a time of 11.99 seconds, a new personal best. Lovell also notched a new PR in the 200m at 24.21 seconds, placing 43rd.
- Continuing in the sprints, first year
Jeremy Amankwah placed 12th in the 110m Hurdles, finishing with a new career high time of 17.86 seconds.
- Securing the Garnet's first top-10 finish of the day, sophomore
Matthew Gutow finished sixth in the 400m, breaking the ticker tape at 51.32 seconds, a new personal record.
- Senior
Kendall Praitis-Hill and first year
Eric Xing took on distance events for Swarthmore in the 800m and 1500m respectively. Praitis-Hill finished 37th with a time of 2:05.41, while Xing finished 51st with a time of 4:33.78.
- Rounding out the track events, the Garnet finished third in the 4x100m relay, putting up a time of 44.99 seconds.
- Finishing the day with field events, both first year
Rishi Tella and sophomore
Quentin Adolphe competed in the long jump for Swarthmore. Tella placed second with a mark of 6.50m, while Adolphe finished 15th with a mark of 5.82m.

The Garnet will compete in the Centennial Conference Championships from Friday, May 5 through Sunday, May 7.
