LANCASTER, Pa. - Putting an exclamation point on an already successful season, the Swarthmore women's indoor track & field team saw nine athletes earn all-Centennial status.
First year
Hannah Swale led the way for the Garnet, earning the title of Rookie of the Year. Swale (pentathlon) also joined seniors
Rose Teszler (800m) and
Adria Retter (Shot Put, Weight Throw) in garnering all-Centennial first-team selections. Sophomore

Quinn Basewitz, senior
Johanna Schubert and Teszler all notched second-team selections thanks to their performances in the 4x800m relay, while senior
Krystle Boadi (60m, 200m) and sophomore
Emily Trelstad (High Jump) tallied honorable mentions. Senior
Emily van Assendelft also earned a place on Centennial all-sportsmanship team

Swale earned her Rookie of the Year title following an excellent season competing for the Garnet. An all-around athlete, the New Jersey native set a new Swarthmore school record in the pentathlon at 2,905 points, a mark that ranks second in the conference this year. Swale also put up excellent results in the high jump and triple jump, notching the fourth best high jump in the conference at 1.58m, and the fifth best triple jump at 10.62m. Additionally, Swale performed excellently at the Centennial Championships, winning the pentathlon for the Garnet and earning her first-team all-Centennial status.
A native of Newton, Massachusetts, Teszler had an impressive outing for Swarthmore at the Centennial Championships, cementing her first-team all-Centennial status with a winning time of 2:14.97 in the 800m. Teszler also notched a second-team selection as a member of the 4x800m relay squad, with the quartet finishing second with a time of 9:37.08.
Rounding out the first-team selections for the Garnet, Retter dominated throws at the Centennial Championships. The PA native punishingly proclaimed her first-team status, finishing first in the shot put at 14.11m (nearly two meters ahead of second place), and first in the weight throw with a mark of 16.31m, shattering both the meet and program records in the process.
Along with Teszler, Mouer, Basewitz and Schubert all secured second-team all-Centennial selections thanks to their superb running in the 4x800m relay. The squad finished with a time of 9:37.08, notching eight crucial points for the Garnet.
Boadi and Trelstad earned all-Centennial honorable mentions following stellar performances for the Garnet on Championship weekend. Boadi ran exceptionally well for Swarthmore, finishing third in the 60m at 7.94 seconds and third in the 200m at 26.29 seconds, just one second behind second place. Trelstad was the star of the Garnet jumps squad, finishing third in the high jump with a mark of 1.59m.
Rounding out the Centennial trophy case for the Garnet, van Assendelft earned a place on the all-sportsmanship team. The senior competed in one event for Swarthmore at the Centennial Championships, finishing 21st in the 800m at 2:29.07.
