Men’s DMR Earns Podium Finish at CC Championships Opener

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's track & field 4000m distance medley relay reached the podium to highlight the opening day of the Centennial Championships on Saturday. 

The team of Will Sheehy, Matthew Gutow, Ethan Rothenberg and Aidan Cantine put together a third place finish to take home a bronze medal.



HOW IT HAPPENED
- Swarthmore earned a podium finish with a third place effort in the distance medley relay. The team of Sheehy, Gutow, Rothenberg and Cantine finished the event in 10:14.37 to take bronze in the event.

- Bastiaan Phair currently sits in fifth place with 2140 points in the heptathlon. The junior had his highest finish in the shot put - recording the second farthest throw at 11.57m. 

- Paul Seth earned points for the Garnet with a fifth place finish in the pole vault. The senior cleared a top height of 3.94m to place fifth overall.

- Jeremy Amankwah finished 12th in the triple jump with a top mark of 11.79m. He also placed 11th in the 60m hurdles with a 9.90 mark. Gabriel Hines also competed in sprints with a 7.35 finish in the 60m dash to take 13th overall.
