LANCASTER, Pa. - Swarthmore College Men's Swimming kicked off the Centennial Conference Championships as they earned a pair of silver medals in the opening night at Franklin & Marshall College.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- The night started off with the 200-medley relay taking home silver with the second best time in program history. The team of
Horace Shew,
Andrew Karpenko,
Jeremy Rockaway and
Ethan Marotte swam a 1:30.12. The time also was under the championship meet record of 1:30.39. Franklin & Marshall took the gold in a conference record time of 1:30.00.
- In the 800-free relay,
Mats McGrath,
Ethan Bergmann,
AJ Das and
Ben Freeman swam to a runner-up finish with a time of 6:42.37. The time ranks second all-time on the program's top ten list, which sits behind a relay made up of Bergmann, Freeman, Alec Lawless and Alec Menzer at the 2020 championship meet.
- Both times swam by the relays this evening were NCAA 'B' cuts.
- The Garnet currently sit in second place with 96 points behind the host Diplomats with 116 points.

The Garnet return to the pool at 10:00 a.m. on Friday for the second session of the Centennial Conference Championships at Franklin & Marshall.
