CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Competing at NCAA DIII Regional Championships on Saturday, Nov. 12th, the Swarthmore women's cross country team finished second overall out of 24 total teams.
The Garnet saw top-10 times from two runners, with senior
Rose Teszler finishing sixth and first year Olivia Montini placing 8th. Along with sophomore
Alina Irvine slotting in at 12th and senior
Cat Crochunis-Brown who finished 22nd, all four Garnet runners were named to the NCAA Metro All-Region Team.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Teszler crossed the finish line first for the Garnet, securing her 6th place placement with a time of 23:20. Coming in just seconds behind the senior was Montini, who finished 8th with her time of 23:28.
- Irvine rounded out the top-12 times for the Garnet, cementing her 12th place finish with a time of 23:53.
- Also putting up quality times for Swarthmore, Crochunis-Brown finished 22nd, senior Maddie Farber finished 51st, senior
Ella Shenkar finished 53rd and senior
Johanna Schubert finished 66th.
- This is the second time in as many seasons that Teszler, Irvine and Crochunis-Brown have been named to the All-Region team, with all three runners also having earned the honor in 2021.
- The Garnet's second place finish was best among Centennial squads.
