Montini Places Garnet, Four Women Finish Top-20 at DeSales Invitational

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's cross country team previewed the NCAA Regional course as they finished second overall as a team at the DeSales Invitational on Saturday morning. 

Olivia Montini paced the Garnet with an eighth place effort as she led the team for the fourth-straight race. Alina Irvine, Cat Crochunis-Brown and Rose Teszler also had strong performances with Top-20 efforts. 



HOW IT HAPPENED
- Montini earned her third top-10 finish of the season as she took eighth overall. The first-year crossed the finish line at 23:32.6 to pace the Garnet.

- Irvine put together her first top-20 effort of the season as she finished in the 12th position with a 23:51.6 mark. Crochunis-Brown followed closely behind Irvine with a time of 23:54.7 to place 14th overall. Teszler also placed inside the top-20 with a 16th place effort and a time of 23:59.4.

- Maddie Farber was fifth on the team with a time of 24:39.8 as she placed 33rd overall, while Ella Shenkar followed with a time of 25:24.6 to finish 50th. Emily van Assendelft rounded out the team's scorers with a 51st place effort and a time of 25:25.2.
