HAVERFORD, Pa. -- Swarthmore College Women's Indoor Track & Field started its 2018-19 season at the Haverford Holiday Meet and finished third of seven schools with 80 points.
Less than one month after scoring goals for Swarthmore Women's Soccer en route to the NCAA Tournament's Round of 16, junior
Sydney Covitz took first place in the 800-meter run on Saturday with a time of 2:22.66.
Another Garnet junior,
Naomi Bronkema, won the shot put with a throw of 10.88 meters (35-feet 8.5-inches). Bronkema also placed second in the high jump with a top mark of 1.50 meters (4-feet 11-inches).
Senior
Kayla Camacho got second place in the 400-meter run in 1:03.29. Junior
Phoebe Whiteside finished third in the mile with a time of 5:24.50.
The Swarthmore women will get back in action in 2019 at the Coach I Open hosted by Franklin & Marshall in Lancaster, Pa., on Saturday, Jan. 12.
