NEWVILLE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Women's Cross Country had two runners earn All-Mid-East Region honors following a successful NCAA Regional race on Saturday. Swarthmore took sixth overall in the region out of 49 teams competing in the 6K meet on the campus of Big Spring High School.
Xiaojing Zeng and
Lilly Price represented Swarthmore on the All-Region team after scoring 23rd and 33rd, respectively. Zeng completed the course in 22:50.4, 16 seconds faster than her mark two weeks ago in the Centennial Conference Championship. Price registered a time of 23:14.7, an improvement of 22 seconds from her time in the conference championship.
The remaining members of Swarthmore's top-five runners finished in the top-65 of the field.
Irina Bukharin ran the course in 23:50.0 for 59th place.
Kenzie Himelein-Wachowiak came in 61st place with a mark of 23:51.3.
Jillian Haywood was not too far behind with a time of 23:58.3 and 65th place.
Hannah Gutow was Swarthmore's sixth time (24:45.3) and
Phoebe Whiteside the seventh (25:15.8).
The Garnet averaged a time of 23:33.0 in Saturday's regional.
