GETTYSBURG, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Swimming rounded out the 2016 fall semester with a mid-season test in the Gettysburg College invite on Friday and Saturday. Pitted against five other schools, the Garnet posted some standout performances.
Jeffrey Tse registered an NCAA B cut performance leading off the 400-yard medley relay with a 100-yard backstroke time of 50.47. Tse's blistering time marks a new program best. He also set a school record in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:06.79. He was just 0.01 seconds behind
Andrew Steele's school record for the fastest 50-yard freestyle. His 200 IM time of 1:54.74 is also second-best in program history.
Liam Fitzstevens posted a time of 1:51.67 to win the 200-yard backstroke. Fitzstevens has the fastest time in the Centennial this year in that race.
Garnet relay teams recorded the third-fastest program time in the 200 freestyle (1:25.85) and the 400 medley (3:25.98), second-fastest time in the 400 freestyle (3:08.92) and the fastest time in the 800 freestyle relay (7:07.07).
Michael Lutzker set personal bests in the 400 IM (4:14.56) and the 1650 freestyle (16:43.43).
The Garnet will now prepare for their mid-season training trip to Puerto Rico.
