GLASSBORO, N.J.—Swarthmore Women's Cross Country finished in 21st at the Inter-Regional Border Battle hosted at Rowan University
on Saturday morning. The event featured tough competition, including 13 teams ranked in the top-30 nation-wide.
Swarthmore top five finishers crossed the line in under
23:30.
Indy Reid-Shaw led the team with a time of 21:48.8 and finished 34th overall.
Irina Bukharin ran the 6K course in 22:18.2 for 63rd overall. Teammate
Tess Wei also finished with a sub-23 time, coming in at 22:49.9.
Natalie McLaughlin placed fourth for the Garnet with a time of 23:17.1.
Lilly Price posted the fifth Garnet time—23:23.3.
Susan Fain and Hannah Gutow ran in sixth and seventh for the Garnet, recording times of 24:25.9 and 24:30.1.
The Garnet had four runners compete in the open division as well:
Pauline McMurry (26:01.1),
Kim Rosa-Perez (26:29.2),
Serena Sung-Clarke (27:28.9) and
Lee Gelpi (28:31.5).
Swarthmore has two weeks to prepare for the Centennial Conference Championship at Haverford College on
Oct. 29.
