ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – Senior 
Elyse Tierney scored five goals and classmate Sara Lentriccia won six draw controls to lead the Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team to a 15-9 triumph over Eastern on Thursday, March 19.
 
Swarthmore used a balanced scoring attack to gain control early by having five players account for the first six goals of the game. Junior 
Lizzie Kolln found the back of the net twice to help the Garnet jump out to a 6-0 lead.
 
The Garnet held a 9-3 advantage at halftime and tacked on the first three markers of the second half. Freshman

Elyse Tierney and Sara Lentriccia each scored during the stretch to make it 12-3 with 18:19 left to play. Swarthmore ballooned its lead to as many as 11 when Lentriccia set up Kolln's fourth goal of the game at the 12:03 mark, which was more than enough insurance for the visitors to run away with their second straight win.
 
Junior 
Connie Bowen picked up the victory for Swarthmore by making four saves. Cortney Andes of Eastern (2-6) suffered the loss and was replaced after giving up six goals and turning away only five shots in nearly 19 minutes. The Garnet outshot the Eagles 32-17, won 17 draw controls and had a 19-18 edge in ground balls.
 
Swarthmore (3-2) is slated to open up conference play when it hosts Ursinus on Saturday, March 21 at 3 p.m.
