NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team had a pair of players selected to the All-Metro Region Second Team by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
Kate Fox and
Annabel Stifler both earned an all-region accolade for the first time. The duo were All-Centennial Conference First Team honorees this season with Fox garnering Rookie of the Year recognition.
Fox tallied 52 goals and nine assists for 61 points. She collected 87 draw controls, 34 ground balls, and 26 caused turnovers. The first-year standout ranked 18
th in the region in draw controls per game and 25
th in goals. Fox recorded season highs of eight goals, eight points, 11 draw controls, four caused turnovers, and four ground balls.
Stifler led Swarthmore with 63 goals and 67 points. She also recorded 22 caused turnovers, 20 ground balls, and 19 draw controls. Stifler ranked eighth in the region in goals per game and 11
th in shot percentage (.543). The senior produced a season-high seven goals and eight points versus Washington College in the Centennial Tournament.
The pair helped lead the Garnet (13-5) to their first Centennial semifinal appearance since 2012 and their highest win total since 2006.
