SWARTHMORE, Pa.-Swarthmore College Men's and Women's Swimming ended the first session of the Swarthmore Invitational on Friday night with solid leads. Men's Swimming leads the four-team field with 330.5 points, and Women's Swimming is ahead of five other competitors with 294 total points.
In both the men's and women's events, the Garnet captured first-place in the 200-yard free relay, the 400-yard medley relay and the 200-yard individual medley. The Garnet went first, second and third on the 200 IM.
Jeffrey Tse swam the 200 IM in 1:57.08 and was followed up by
Liam Fitzstevens (1:59.04) and
CJ Cling (2:03.73). In the women's race, Elizabeth Bley won with a time 2:18.01.
Jillian Haywood took second less than a second later with a time of 2:18.88.
Sarah Solomon swam in 2:20.20 to finish in third.
The Swarthmore Invite continues with a session at 9:30 Saturday morning and the final session at 4 p.m.
