Katie Jo McMenamin led the Swarthmore women's cross country team at the Main Line Invitational on Thursday, September 25 at Haverford College.
McMenamin shaved off 28 seconds from her performance last year at the Main Line Invitational, clocking in at 17:40.70 on the soaked 3-mile course and placing 13th overall.

Liz Tawa was the second team member to cross the finish line for the Garnet, coming in at 18:15.90 and shaving off a full 1 minute and 7 seconds from her Main Line Invitational time from last year. She was soon followed by junior
Jenna Cody, sophomore
Indy Reid-Shaw, and freshman
Irina Bukharin who all finished within three seconds of each other to complete Swarthmore's top-five finishers.
The race included other runners from Villanova, Penn, St. Joseph's, La Salle, and host Haverford. Villanova's Stephanie Schappert won the individual title at the non-scoring meet, outdistancing the field of 61 competitors by more than 13 seconds.
Swarthmore's women's cross country team, which is ranked 35th in the latest USTFCCCA National Poll, hopes to continue to improve its times when it runs at the Paul Short Meet hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem on Saturday, Oct. 4.
