SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Nine different players found the back of the net as Washington College defeated the Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team by a 14-4 score on Wednesday, Apr. 23 at Clothier Field.

Swarthmore controlled possession at the beginning and attempted the first four shots of the game on target, but freshman netminder Allison Renapp turned everything away she saw to keep it scoreless in the early going. Sophomore Carley Kendall eventually broke the ice with a goal at the 18:38 mark, sparking a streak of 11 unanswered goals for the visitors. After junior Emily Hubley finished a pass from freshman Alli Dudley, senior Corinne Sommi put the Garnet on the board to create an 11-1 score at the break.

The teams played an even second half by netting three goals apiece. Freshman Maisey Thompson gave the visitors their largest lead of the game by finding the back of the net to make it 14-2 with 6:08 left to play before sophomore Elizabeth Upton and senior Lucy Whitacre each scored for the Garnet to seal the final outcome.

Washington College (10-4, CC 6-2) held a 25-15 advantage in total shots, won 15 of the 20 draw controls and had a 19-16 edge in ground balls to earn the victory.
