Jason Fu took first place in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:58.89 to help lead the Swarthmore College men's swimming team to a first-place standing among six schools after the first session of the Swarthmore Invitational on Friday, November 21 at Ware Pool.
The Garnet also took first in both the 200 freestyle and 400 medley relay with times of 1:30.39 and 3:40.22, respectively. Freshmen

Tony Wang and
Alejandro Hernandez along with sophomore
Andrew Steele took part in the freestyle relay, while sophomore
Liam Fitzstevens, Hernandez, Steele, and sophomore Steve Sekula swam the medley relay.
Fitzstevens and Steele made other notable performances with each of them coming in with close second-place finishes. Fitzstevens swam the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:01.64, and Steel finished with a 22.38 in the 50 freestyle.
Swarthmore ended the night with 328.5 points, followed by Salisbury University with 234.5 points. Cabrini College (126), Ocean County College (102.5), Lycoming College (101.5), and Fashion Institute of Technology (59) rounded out the team scoring.
The Swarthmore Invitational continues tomorrow beginning at 9:30 a.m.
