BROWN 6K RESULTSOPEN RESULTSBETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Swarthmore College women's cross country team placed 16th among 40 schools at the 41st Annual Paul Short Run on Saturday, Oct. 4 at Lehigh.
The Garnet competed as a team in the Women's Brown 6k run and were led by
Liz Tawa, who hit the tape 31st among 360 runners in 22:30. Freshmen
Irina Bukharin and
Isabel Erickson were 65th and 119th with times of 22:53 and 23:19, respectively, while sophomore
Kate Hannah (133rd, 23:28) and freshman
Bret Serbin (197th, 24:07) completed the team's top five.
Paced by freshman
Susan Fain, Swarthmore also had four individuals compete in the Women's Open race. Fain circled the 6k course in 24:06.
Swarthmore will take next weekend off and run at Princeton on Saturday, Oct. 18 in its final tuneup before the Centennial Conference Championships.
