CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTSOPEN RESULTSPRINCETON, N.J. – The Swarthmore College women's cross country team placed 25th out of 35 scoring teams on Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Princeton Invitational.
The Garnet finished in the middle of the standings while competing against schools from both Division I and Division III. Villanova captured the team title by having three runners among the top 10 finishers.
Swarthmore was led by senior
Liz Tawa in the 6k championship race, who finished with a time of 23:22 to place 112th out of 278 runners. Sophomore
Indy Reid-Shaw followed closely behind Tawa, finishing in 130th at 23:30. Sophomore
Kate Hannah finished third for the Garnet, coming in at 23:38 and finishing in 139th place.
Completing the top five were junior
Sarah Nielsen and freshman
Isabel Erickson, who notched marks of 23:47 and 24:07 and hit the tape in 151st and 179, respectively.
Swarthmore will now prepare for the Centennial Conference Championships on Nov. 1, which will be hosted by Haverford College.
