At halftime, the Lord Jeffs led 8-4 after grabbing 10 of 13 draws and outshooting the Garnet 17-11.

Amherst fired quick and often to open the contest with three goals in less than three minutes to grab an early 3-0 lead. After a timeout, the Garnet responded with three straight goals - including free position goals from Penikis and sophomore Sara Lentricchia - to knot the score at 3-3 with 12:11 in the half. The Lord Jeffs regained the momentum to finish the half with five goals to Swat's one for a 8-4 lead at the break.
