LANCASTER, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's swim team swam to a sixth-place finish at the 2013 Centennial Conference Championships at Franklin & Marshall, which concluded on Sunday evening.
As a team, the Garnet finished sixth with 365.5 points. Gettysburg won the team title with 801 points, outdistancing second-place Ursinus by 216 points.
Three Garnet men made A-finals on the last day of competition. Junior John Flaherty, Swarthmore's overall high scorer for the meet, earned a close fourth in the 200 backstroke (1:55.34), while senior Daniel Duncan (1:58.14) and junior Jake Benveniste (2:01.97) came in fifth and eighth in the 200 butterfly.
Strong B-final swims included senior Roger Chin in the 200 backstroke (11th, 2:01.46), sophomore Sam Tomlinson in the 100 freestyle (11th, 48.13), seniors Charlie Hepper and Josh Satre in the 200 butterfly (10th, 1:59.34, and 13th, 2:01.63), and freshman Riley Collins and junior Stan Le in the 200 breaststroke (11th and 12th, 2:17.46 and 2:17.54).
