BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's cross country team finished sixth overall at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regionals Saturday afternoon and placed two runners on the Freshmen All-Mideast Region team.
Freshmen Indy Reid-Shaw and Natalie McLaughlin earned the regional accolades with times of 22:45 (44th) and 23:03 (62nd), respectively, on the 6,000-meter course.
Sophomore Sarah Nielsen was Swarthmore's top finisher, clocking in at 22:35 for 40th overall. Jenna Cody '16 crossed the line at 22:40 - both marks were season-bests for the student-athletes. Senior Emma Saarel finished at 22:43 followed by Reid-Shaw and McLaughlin as the top-five Garnet finishers.
Sophomore Katie McMenamin clocked a season-best 23:03, as did junior Liz Tawa at 24:03.
Johns Hopkins placed first overall with 26 points followed by Dickinson (94) and Marywood (118). There were 358 participants in this regional event.
