PRINCETON, N.J. - The Swarthmore College women's cross country team finished its regular season schedule on Saturday at the Princeton Invitational. The team competed in both the championship and open six kilometer race.
Of the 25 scoring teams, Swarthmore placed 19th overall in the championship race - competing amongst schools from both Divisions I and III. Duquesne took first place with a 21:57 average with three runners placing in the top-10.
Top finishers in the championship bracker for Swarthmore were sophomores Katie McMenamin (23:12), Sarah Nielsen (23:18) followed by Jenna Cody (23:28), freshman Indy Reid-Shaw (23:32) and senior Emma Saarel (23:45)
McMenamin shaved nearly a minute of her mark from last season on this course (24:07) and Nielsen shedded 54 seconds off.
Swarthmore will make final adjustments in the coming weeks for the Centennial Conference Championship on November 2 hosted by McDaniel College.
